Raising Awareness of Honour Based Abuse and Forced Marriage

Honor-Based Abuse encompasses various criminal offenses, including Forced Marriage, which are severe violations of human rights and often impact young women, girls, and boys. Forced marriage occurs when individuals are coerced or pressured into a marriage without their consent, typically for the benefit of a third party. This Raising Awareness of Honor-Based Abuse and Forced Marriage training course educates school staff on how to recognize signs of honor-based abuse and forced marriage in children and young people. The course covers relevant laws, victim options, the Forced Marriage Protection Order (FMPO), and the appropriate actions to take if there are suspicions or knowledge of someone being at risk.
